It seems Jamco's heartbreak won't be because of an apartment explosion featured in a recent teaser when “Blue Bloods” season 9 comes rolling into town. But the heartbreak train is definitely coming for “Blue Bloods” fans' favorite couple.
Tom Selleck's Frank Reagan has already expressed his disapproval of Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie's (Vanessa Ray) engagement when the couple announced the news to the family during one of their Sunday dinners last season. Frank's disapproval is not about the engagement per se, but the fact that Jamie and Eddie still want to continue to be partners even after their engagement.

In the recent sneak preview clip of the “Blue Bloods” season 9 premiere episode, fans are given a chance to hear a clearer argument from both Frank and Jamie's side. It seems the scene takes place after the apartment explosion scene that is featured in the season 9 trailer.
Frank has already pointed out that he is unhappy with Jamie and Eddie continuing to work together as partners because they may take unnecessary risks on the job for each other. On the other hand, Jamie points out that there is no official rule that disallows an engaged or even married couple from continuing to be partners during their beat. The father and son seem to be unable to come to an agreement, with Frank accusing Jamie of coercing him to make an exception for the couple.
Knowing that Eddie will most likely be safe one way or another after the apartment explosion, fans will have to swallow the bitter fact that Jamie and Eddie's engagement will be hurting people other than themselves. If there is any heartbreak that fans can expect for Jamco, it would be the couple's relationship with Frank Reagan.
Fans looking forward to how the Reagan family will continue to deal with Jamie and Eddie's engagement while still being partners in the force can catch “Blue Bloods” season 9 when its season premiere episode airs tomorrow, Sept. 28.
