After the adrenaline-fueled fight in episode 65 and the self-reflective wrap-up of episode 66, “Boruto” episode 67 looks to be developing the other cast members of the “Boruto” family.
“Boruto” Episode 67 is titled “Super Chocho Super Mode,” hinting at the importance of Chocho Akimichi, one of the kunoichi making up the Ino-Shika-Cho triumvirate of team 10. In the episode's official preview on the show's official website, we are treated to Chocho providing the narration.
The young kunoichi tells Boruto to back off from interrupting her little spiel and proceeds to let fans know that the episode will be about her and a potential romance subplot for the excited kunoichi.
From what can be gleaned from the preview, it seems kunoichi team 7 and team 10 will be tasked to do bodyguard duty for an actor. Chocho mentions a romance story, which could simply be the young kunoichi finding herself attracted to one of the actors that the teams are tasked to protect. But what we don't get a glimpse of are the would-be attackers whom the kunoichi are supposed to guard against, as well as why the actors to be defended are so important.
We can probably expect Chocho to showcase her Akimichi Clan techniques, which allow her to convert her calories into chakra, manipulating the size of her body parts for combat purposes. The last part of the preview actually shows Akimichi using one of the said techniques, but with the target obscured. Fans can expect to wonder if “Boruto” episode 67 will just be another filler episode or if this assignment means another significant villain will go up against the kunoichi sometime in the future.
“Boruto” episode 67 will air on Aug. 2 and can be streamed by any excited fans of the ninja series on Crunchyroll.
