“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 68 is expected to have several funny and more relaxed scenes. But is the Chocho Akimichi arc going to get more serious and reveal that Tomaru could be sabotaging Team 7 and Team 10’s mission?
The Chocho arc continues in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 68 with the ninja suddenly becoming an actress. In the previous episode, Tomaru — Chocho’s love interest — convinced his producer to let Chocho take Ashina’s acting role after the latter was badly injured from the masked ninja’s attack.
The video teaser for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 68 focused on Chocho’s acting gig and onscreen kiss with Tomaru. However, the anime series might soon reveal the real conflict that Boruto and his friends will face in this arc.
For a split second in the video teaser, Shikadai Nara’s Shadow Imitation Technique is seen in action. And reports suggest that Shikadai is using it to help Chocho keep her act together and focus on their mission in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 68.
It can be recalled in episode 67, Team 10 and Team 7 almost caught the masked ninja attacker. But a crucial move from Chocho was jeopardized when she prioritized getting back to her slimmer figure upon seeing that Tomaru is looking at her. The bad guy escaped and Shikadai took the fall.
With that, there are speculations that Tomaru could be somehow affiliated to the attackers. And to keep Boruto and his friends from fulfilling their mission, he saw Chocho and her affection as the right tool to derail the entire operation. And making Chocho her onscreen partner is just the perfect move to completely distract Chocho from the mission. This is one interesting theory that will hopefully be confirmed or dismissed in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 68, which will air on Thursday, Aug. 9.
Meanwhile, the last seconds of the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 68 preview suggest that Chocho could be in a little bit of trouble. Fans can observe that Chocho is donning a pink dress while being extremely tensed. All of a sudden, her wardrobe seems to have fallen to the floor, hinting that she might have reverted back to her normal body while the cameras are rolling.
