“Bosch” season 5 got an early renewal announcement but it appears that filming did not start at once. This is because season 4 was released on Amazon Prime Video in April 2018 and it has been nearly a year and the drama is not back yet.
But while “Bosch” season 5 has yet to air, fans should rejoice as the next season has been confirmed already. Thus, as the production team wraps up the works for the release of the fifth installment this year, they are also busy for the next shooting days for the sixth.
“I’m on the set where we are wrapping up the filming of Season 5,” TV Line quoted producer Michael Connelly as saying. “And now this great news that we get to do it again with the sixth season. Can’t wait!”
The head of Amazon Studios’ TV department, Albert Cheng, also said, “We are happy to continue to work with Fabrik, Michael Connelly, and the rest of the team on this artful procedural drama.”
Despite the good news of renewal for “Bosch” season 6, it was stated that this would be the series’ final run. At any rate, the upcoming season 5 will feature new cast members and Deadline mentioned that Chris Vance has been added as a villain named Dalton Walsh, the boss of a group that supplies opioids.
“Bosch” season 5 will also introduce Ryan Hurst as Hector Bonner. He will be the investigator who will be paired up with Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver). Another new investigator who will be added to the team is Bianca Kajlich (Christina Henry).
The airdate for “Bosch” season 5 is not yet available but Amazon is expected to make an announcement soon. It may arrive soon since filming is complete and post-production is in progress.
