The launch of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” on the PC is one of the most highly anticipated releases by FPS fans due to the substantial power promised by the platform. However, it was revealed that the framerate will be capped at only 120FPS, at least at launch. This will be addressed in the days that follow. Zombies also became the topic of recent discussions by the developers.
The PC version of “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” is supposed to be the penultimate version of the game. There are more graphics and processing power to work with, so hitting framerate highs should not be a problem. However, as Eurogamer reports, an FPS ceiling will be imposed for a few days. It would seem that this is due to the anticipated load on the servers that high player counts might cause.
Once the server issue has been dealt with, however, the developers promise to unlock the framerate limit for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.” This should allow gamers to hit those 144FPS highs that will give them plenty of satisfaction, in return.
Speaking of satisfaction, one of the most enjoyable aspects of any “COD” game is the zombie mode. This mode is also available in “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4,” with a bit more intricacy to the narrative. In a recent video, senior executive producer for Zombies at Treyarch, Jason Blundell talks about the history of the mode.
“Because it was so experimental and because we were doing a very serious title with World at War, the deal was made with Activision that we wouldn’t promote it, we wouldn’t market it, we wouldn’t talk about it,” Blundell explained. “We just got this cry from the community of like ‘Give us more, give us more.’ So we kept on going. I don’t’ think anyone expected the size and the popularity, and the kind of speed of growth for the Zombie community.”
“Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” will launch on Oct. 12. It will be a multiplayer title.
