The global launch of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" is right around the corner. To help fans prepare, developer Infinity Ward released the schedule of when players can pre-load the game and when the next installment will be fully released on all platforms in different regions.
Players who pre-ordered "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" get the perks of accessing the game earlier than others. This time, however, only the campaign gameplay will be unlocked for early access.
Those who pre-ordered the game can pre-load the campaign starting Oct 19, at 10 PT, before it goes live the following day at the same time on all platforms. The "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" campaign early access will allow players to experience first the return of the beloved Task Force 141 and the continuation of their story from the 2019 "Modern Warfare" game. The pre-load for the full game, which includes Multiplayer and Special Ops content, will follow next week on Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. PT via Steam and Battle.net.
On paper, the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" release date is listed as Oct. 28 because that is when the full game goes live in most parts of the world. But due to time zone differences, players in the Pacific and Central Time zones are actually getting the game on Oct. 27. The exact release times for different time zones worldwide are listed in this blog post and the Twitter post below. Infinity Ward also reminds players that the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system "fully activates" once the full game unlocks. The game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
The launch schedule also includes the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" pre-season, which runs from Oct. 28 to Nov. 15. During this time, players can level up their Military Rank to gain access to base Loadout items and go through the Special Ops Kit system before Season 1 begins on Nov. 16. Players will have to wait until Dec. 14 for the introduction of Raids in Special Ops.
A previous post on a Battle.net support page gave the impression that Activision will bring "Overwatch 2's" controversial postpaid mobile number requirement to play "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II." But Activision clarified in a blog post earlier this week that the policy will only apply to new players on PC.
