Camp Corral provides the children of wounded, injured, ill or fallen military service members, ages eight to 15, with a free week at camp where they are able to just be kids, away from the stresses and unique challenges of military life. Campers are given the opportunity to build supportive relationships with others in similar circumstances, be challenged by new adventures, grow in their independence, and build resilience, all while enjoying “the week of a lifetime.”
BWF works to ensure impacted post-9/11 service members, veterans and their families thrive once they return home. The organization funds innovative programs in communities where post-9/11 veterans, their families and caregivers live and work. Some of these programs include the Farmer Veteran Coalition, Student Veterans of America, and Warrior Canine Connection. As a grant recipient, Camp Corral joins the foundation’s network of investment in the next chapter of life for veterans and their families.

“Camp Corral is extremely grateful for the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s investment in our mission to transform the lives of military youth,” said Mary Beth Hernandez, CEO of Camp Corral. “Every summer, thousands of families are wait-listed due to limited resources and with this grant, we’re able to serve more military families than last year.”

About the Bob Woodruff Foundation
The Bob Woodruff Foundation (BWF) was founded in 2006 after reporter Bob Woodruff was hit by a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq. Since then, the Bob Woodruff Foundation has led an enduring call to action for people to stand up for heroes and meet the emerging and long-term needs of today’s veterans. To date, BWF has invested more than $42 million to Find, Fund and Shape™ programs that have empowered more than 2.5 million impacted veterans, service members and their families.
