The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV's lease prices have dropped to nearly match those of its gas-powered counterparts, thanks to recent incentives, making it an attractive option for cost-conscious electric vehicle buyers.
Recent Incentives Make Chevy Blazer EV Lease Prices Nearly Equal to Gas Models
According to Electrek, the all-electric Chevy Blazer is both a sustainable and affordable choice. Thanks to recent incentives, the monthly lease price of the Chevy Blazer EV can be as low as $10 higher than that of the gas-powered model, making it a cost-effective option for those considering an electric vehicle.
The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, part of GM's redesigned EV lineup, is now more accessible than ever. With a starting price of just over $50,000 following a price reduction in March, it's important to note that this figure does not include the $7,500 EV tax credit. This credit can significantly reduce the cost, making the 2024 Blazer EV (2LT) a competitive option at $42,695 with a range of up to 279 miles.
Looking to the future, GM has exciting plans to introduce a more affordable (LT FWD) model later this year, with a starting price of under $50,000. This demonstrates a commitment to making electric vehicles more accessible despite the current Blazer EV's MSRP being over $13,000 more expensive than the gas-powered model. Even with this price difference, lease prices can be as little as $10 more monthly, showing that the Blazer EV is a competitive choice.
According to CarsDirect, an online car research firm, the 2024 Blazer EV is priced at $369 monthly. This agreement is for 24 months, with an initial payment of $1,679 required. Based on the Blazer EV's MSRP of $50,195 for the 2LT configuration and 10,000 miles per year, the offer is valid until July 2. Additionally, it comprises a $1,000 incentive for non-GM lessees and a $1,500 incentive.
Chevy Blazer EV Boasts Competitive Lease Rates Despite Higher MSRP, Thanks to Incentives and Residual Value Adjustments
In contrast, the gas-powered Blazer, priced at $36,795, is advertised at $299 monthly for 24 months and $3,129 due at signing (after a $2,000 loyalty discount). The petroleum model of the Chevy Blazer is priced at $429 per month, while the EV lease costs $439 per month.
Despite similar lease prices, the substantial discrepancy in MSRPs is due to the EV's residual value, which CarsDirect determined to be 82%, compared to the gas model's 69%. To accommodate the $7,500 federal tax credit, General Motors is increasing the Blazer EV's residual value. The EV has a lower lease rate of 4.01% compared to the gas-powered Blazer's 4.94%.
The Blazer EV is $141 less expensive to lease per month than the 2024 Honda Prologue ($580 per month), built on the same platform, at $439. Chevrolet also provides its Blazer and Equinox EV models with no payments for up to 120 days.
