‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 14, titled “Cold Front,” is set to feature an accident triggered by a blizzard that brings in a massive influx of patients at the emergency department of the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. The doctors will have to make difficult decisions in dealing with their respective patients as supplies dwindle.
The synopsis for episode 14 posted on TV Guide reads, “A multi-vehicle accident during a blizzard puts the staffers in full scramble mode as they brace for an influx of victims. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) and Latham (Ato Essandoh) handle triage duties, difficult decisions must be made and supplies become limited. Also: A severely burned patient has one final request; and an agitated patient creates drama in the waiting room.”
The promo for “Cold Front” hints at a dire emergency situation for the physicians and staff at the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center after a pre-dawn car pileup brings in a barrage of patients. Each attending will get their hands full as the department is on high alert as everyone is mobilized. Promotional photographs for the upcoming episode posted on Spoilers Guide show the doctors and rest of the E.R. staff in action.
Dr. Rhodes will work alongside Dr. Latham in handling complex and difficult triage duties while Dr. Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) will have to put their heads together to solve the problem of dwindling supplies at the hospital, triggered by the storm and emergencies. It seems that the doctors will need to come up with solutions to handle the situation properly.
Meanwhile, Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) will try and save a severely burned patient, who has one final request. Finally, Dr. Charles must deal with a highly agitated patient, who is making a scene at the waiting room.
‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 14, titled “Cold Front,” is scheduled to air on February 16, 2017 on NBC. It will be followed by episode 15, titled "Lose Yourself," scheduled for March 2.
