“Clash Royale” players should prepare for some updates to be applied this weekend. It appears that the anticipated balance changes on the Executioner will be released before the month ends.
‘Clash Royale’ update: Supercell developer confirms balance changes arrival
Supercell developer Seth Allison posted a series of tweets that seemed like a prologue to the balance changes they are going to release. Allison also confirmed that the set of balancing updates would be announced on Saturday, though it is unclear if it will arrive this weekend as well.
It is not difficult to see that much of Allison's post was referring to “Clash Royale’s” Executioner card. It was first released in 2017 and was unlocked at the Spooky Town arena. Since the Executioner was launched, it already went through several balance changes that both decreased and increased its damage points.
Over the years, a fraction of “Clash Royale” players are not accepting of the balance changes as others. So the backlash from every update, especially when a card gets nerfed, is almost always expected. This could explain Allison’s post that feels like preparing the fanbase to expect balance changes that might not make sense to them at first.
‘Clash Royale’ balance changes: Reworks on the Executioner anticipated
The game developer did not specify any balance changes in his post and only mentioned the Executioner and the new “Clash Royale” card Fisherman as examples. However, it is important to note that reworks on the Executioner have been mentioned on different occasions before.
In a “casual” Ask-Me-Anything session for “Clash Royale” on Reddit earlier in August, Allison and Supercell community manager Drew Haycock hinted at some changes happening to the Executioner. Some of the card updates mentioned were a significant increase in damage, moderately reduced range, and small amount decline in hit speed and health. Haycock and Allison noted, however, that these planned changes were not yet final at the time of the Reddit AMA.
Meanwhile, the developers also confirmed that more reworks are in the pipeline. Allison told a “Clash Royale” fan to “hang tight” for reworks on the Zappies. “The goals of a Zappies rework would be to make them better at splitting lanes and making the first attack not nearly so slow. But we want to do more than just a faster first hit,” Allison explained.
