The Cleveland Cavaliers announced a partnership with Coca-Cola, naming it the official refreshment provider at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, home also to the Cleveland Monsters. This move ends the Cavaliers' longstanding beverage affiliation with Pepsi in the NBA landscape.
It also includes retail promotions, fan giveaways, a joint commitment to sustainability, and various impactful community initiatives.
Enhanced Fan Experience Inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse
Sports Illustrated reported that as part of this groundbreaking deal, Coca-Cola will offer an extensive range of beverages for fans to enjoy during games and events. Among the featured products will be beloved classics such as Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, DASANI bottled water, Minute Maid Lemonade, and Sprite, which takes center stage as a prominent brand within the partnership.
Sprite will be integrated into the dynamic game atmosphere, adorning the DJ booth and player arrival wall and serving as a platform to showcase fans' artistic talent, according to NBA.com.
Cavaliers Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer, Shelly Cayette, expressed her enthusiasm by highlighting the shared commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to the community. "We, ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages and the Cleveland Cavaliers share a philosophy of providing unique and elevated experiences for our community, which makes this a perfect match for our collective team and fans," stated Cayette.
A New Era of Refreshment for Cleveland Cavaliers Fans
This collaboration marks the beginning of a new era for the Cavaliers franchise as Coca-Cola assumes the mantle from Pepsi, the team's previous exclusive beverage supplier. Over the years, both Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have had significant partnerships with the NBA.
Coca-Cola became the NBA's official beverage sponsor in 1986 and maintained this status for 28 years. 2015, PepsiCo established a partnership with the NBA, which was renewed in 2021.
With the home opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder just around the corner, the Cavaliers are eager to embark on this refreshing journey alongside Coca-Cola. The impending 2023-24 season promises even more excitement for fans, as this new partnership ensures a wide array of beverage options and a shared commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
