SAN MATEO, Calif., April 04, 2018 -- Cloudian, the innovation leader in enterprise object storage systems, today announced that it will team with Cisco at the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 7-12, to demonstrate IP-based media workflows that create a flexible, dynamic production environment. The demonstration will take place in the Cisco booth at NAB, located in South Hall, SU8502CM.
Cloudian will demonstrate an IP infrastructure-based media production workflow that utilizes its HyperStore software-defined storage system running on a Cisco UCS S3260 Storage Server. HyperStore will be demonstrated as a limitlessly-scalable archive for Cisco’s solution, which also includes Vizrt’s Viz One Media Asset Manager and an all-IP video-production workflow management system from NewTek. The workflow will also feature Cloudian HyperFile, which provides seamless storage connectivity for legacy applications.
“Media companies need agile production environments to help them produce content faster and in larger data formats, while ensuring that media is quickly searchable, protected and indefinitely available,” said Roger Sherwood, director of business development, Media Segment, Service Provider Business, Cisco. “We are excited to demonstrate our collaboration with Cloudian at NAB, where we will illuminate how HyperStore architecture complements Cisco’s IP-based media workflow to benefit media customers.”
HyperStore is a software-defined object storage solution that allows users to start small and grow to hundreds of petabytes on-premise simply by adding nodes.
“Today’s rapidly evolving media environment demands agile workflows that can quickly adapt to changing needs,” said Jon Toor, CMO of Cloudian “Cloudian’s limitlessly-scalable software-defined storage on the Cisco platform completes the IP-based architecture to help media companies realize the benefits of an automated, video-aware network that can prioritize media-production workloads to meet dynamic requirements.”
During the NAB show, Cloudian will also demonstrate a workflow for media that enables customers to rapidly store, protect and search petabyte-scale media archives at booth SL6321, located in the South Hall. The demonstration will detail how cloud-based tools can be used with Cloudian’s limitlessly scalable storage system to enrich metadata and enable rapid media search using Google-like tools. Throughout the conference, Cloudian will also feature speaking sessions at its booth from technology partners, resellers and customers, including Cisco, Microsoft, Quantum, Vizrt, WWT, Evolphin, File Catalyst, SME, eMAM, Data Frameworks, WIZR, and others. In addition, Cloudian customers WGBH Boston, Vox Media and a national weekly late-night comedy program will discuss how they built private cloud archives to accelerate workflows and leverage metadata on Tuesday, April 10, at 3:20 p.m. in Room N234-256. WGBH will also present on its efforts to modernize its archive with HyperStore on Wednesday, April 11 at 4:20 p.m. in room N256.
