Coke just updated its recipe for its Coca-Cola Zero Sugar beverage variant as it wants customers to enjoy the full taste of a regular Coke. The company’s no-sugar versions of Coke surely taste a bit different since it does not have the same kind of sweetness that those with sugars have.
Changes in Coca-Cola Zero Sugar
Coke knows this, so it did a makeover for its Coke Zero by changing its recipe. The main goal is to make it taste like the original flavor so people who avoid sugar can still enjoy the same taste.
The beverage producer made the announcement about the “changed” Coke Zero Sugar on Tuesday, July 13. It was added that the beverage’s can design will also change and will feature an all-red design with black letterings.
According to CNN Business, Coca-Cola’s move to tweak the recipe of its sugarless Coke comes as the company starts to focus its resources on its trademark products that include Diet Coke, Coke Coke Zero Sugar, and the regular Coke after pulling out some of the struggling brands from the market. The firm is now hoping that the new version of the popular beverage will attract more patrons.
“Recognizing that tastes and preferences are always evolving, we’re focused on continuous improvement to give fans the best-tasting Coca-Cola they want,” Coca-Cola category lead of North American operating unit, Rafael Prandini, said in a statement. “With zero sugar or calories - offered in the most iconic packaging and powered by some of our most creative, consumer-centric marketing yet.”
Availability of the updated Coke Zero
Coca-Cola will launch the new Coke Zero Sugar that was tweaked to make it taste more like its original version. It will have the same ingredients, but the sweetener is adjusted. Customers can read the label for the exact ingredients as well as nutritional information.
The updated version will be in groceries and convenience stores starting this month, and it will be fully distributed across the United States in August. Meanwhile, the first Coca‑Cola Zero Sugar was released in 2005, and it was reformulated in 2017, so this is the third recipe for the low-calorie version of the popular Coke drink.
