“Criminal Minds” Season 14 is seeing a lot of episodes being directed by the actors and it is starting to look like the show is just coddling the performers, at this point. Is this a sign that the network desperately wants to hold on to the people that make up one of its most successful shows? After Adam Rodriguez’ (Luke Alvez) episode 8 bid, Aisha Tyler (Tara Lewis) is next to showcase what her directorial skills look like.
In the upcoming episode of “Criminal Minds” Season 14, which would be episode 8, Adam Rodriguez will be showing fans what he can do as the director. It would appear that the episode will involve looking into the relationship of David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) when Krystall (Gail O’Grady) returns. A synopsis for the episode over at TV Guide is not painting a rosy picture regarding the situation.
“The BAU investigates a double homicide and kidnapping in New Hampshire. Also, Rossi's plans to elevate his relationship with Krystall don't go as planned,” the synopsis reads.
Depending on how episode 8 of “Criminal Minds” Season 14, Adam Rodriguez might be ready to direct a romantic drama. Following him then is Aisha Tyler who directed the ninth episode of the season. As CarterMatt notes, she is only one of the many actors who has been given the chance to direct an important episode of the season.
Considering that this is already “Criminal Minds” Season 14, it wouldn’t be that strange for the network to think about implementing a change of pace for the show. Having actors direct episodes would help inject freshness into the long-running series and add character to the increasingly stale model. Then again, this could also be nothing more than the network catering to the actors’ egos in their quest to prove that they can also direct.
