Recently, a rumor about the release date for “Cyberpunk 2077” came out claiming that its E3 2019 appearance will also serve as its launch. Suffice to say, this is simply not the case. The game is confirmed to appear during the event, but it will not even come with a playable demo of the final version. What’s more, it has also been reported that there will be no mod support upon launch, but there might be afterward.
There are a few things that need to be unpacked with regards to the most recent developments about “Cyberpunk 2077” and what CD Projekt Red has been doing with it. To start with, unlike many other games that were released that were ready to support mods, this game will not. On that note, it was also pointed out that the studio does want to allow mods eventually, PC Gamer reports.
Marcin Momot, the global community lead for the studio wrote as much in a recent forum post while talking about “Cyberpunk 2077” mods. So, while players will receive no official support to mess around with the game upon release, they will get it shortly after.
"We have no plans to share at the moment," the post reads. "Obviously, we would love to support the modding community in the future, but for the time being we want to focus on releasing the game first. Hopefully, this clears things up a bit."
As it stands, there are still no details as to when “Cyberpunk 2077” will be coming out, but the date might be finally announced during the upcoming E3 event. This should prove to be incredible news to those who have been waiting to get their hands on the title. Unfortunately, it does not seem like they will be able to do so for a while since not even a demo is likely to appear during the event.
