CD Projekt Red finally broke its silence on the much-awaited “Cyberpunk 2077” patch 1.2. While some crucial details about the update remain under wraps, the developer has revealed some of the balancing changes it will deliver.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’ patch 1.2 will balance police’s response time, vehicle steering
The developer delivered the first “Cyberpunk 2077” news in quite a unique fashion. Instead of posting the typical form of patch notes, CD Projekt Red posted the “development insight” in a “special report” style through the fictional program N54 News.
While the post is lengthy, it discusses a few main points on what would change in the gameplay once “Cyberpunk 2077” patch 1.2 is out. First on the agenda is addressing the response time of the fictional Night City Police Department (NCPD).
Simply put, law enforcement reacts way too fast for “Cyberpunk 2077” players to commit a crime. The post also indicates that the NCPD’s “rapid deployment tactics” are causing issues to the corporations and businesses within the security sector.
Those who decided to continue playing “Cyberpunk 2077” may have already noticed that after committing illegal activities, whether intentional or not, NCPD elements are immediately on the scene, overwhelming them. This should no longer be the case once patch 1.2 is out. Developers will also add a new recon drone unit to make it seem like the police are not swarming the scene of the crime without assessing the situation first.
Driving should also become a better experience once “Cyberpunk 2077” patch 1.2 is out. Players will soon be able to adjust the steering sensitivity with a dedicated slider from the Options menu without changing the rest of the customization they have in place for the car. Developers also admitted that vehicles tend to be harder to control for players experiencing lower frame rates. “We traced this to some code that wasn't handling extreme changes in frame rate properly. The steering speed is now very consistent from 20 to 60+ FPS,” CD Projekt Red explained.
‘Cyberpunk 2077’ patch 1.2 still has no release date
The release of the “Cyberpunk 2077” patch 1.2 development insight gives players something to look forward to after two months since the game’s first major patch was released. However, CD Projekt Red left out one key piece of information — the patch’s release date.

Last December, the developer stated that patch 1.2 would be released in February. However, CD Projekt Red said last Feb. 25, it needs more time to complete the update after its networks were attacked with ransomware by still unidentified hackers.
