The DJI Mavic 3 is one of the biggest announcements anticipated by drone enthusiasts and professional content creators. While the standard model comes with several upgrades, the higher-priced DJI Mavic 3 Cine will ship with some exclusive features but for a hefty cost.
As an earlier leak revealed, both DJI Mavic 3 and DJI Mavic 3 Cine drones feature a 20MP 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera, 84-degree FOV, and f/2.8 to f/11 aperture. The new camera can capture images with a resolution of up to 5280 x 3965. The drones’ maximum flight and hover time, without wind, is advertised at 46 minutes and 40 minutes, respectively, along with a flight distance of up to 30km.
DJI Mavic 3 supports MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, HEVC/H.265 video formats and can capture up to 5.1K video resolution with varying frame rates from 24 to 50 frames per second. The highest achievable frame rate is 200 FPS for full HD videos.
The same video formats are supported by the DJI Mavic 3 Cine. But the high-end drone exclusively supports the Apple ProRes 422 HQ codec.
DJI Mavic 3 Cine also offers a great advantage in terms of internal memory. The drone offers a 1TB SSD storage, while the vanilla Mavic 3 only comes with an 8GB storage. The Cine’s SSD cannot be replaced, but users can use an external memory SDXC or UHS-I microSD card with up to 1TB capacity. DJI has listed 15 “recommended” microSD cards on the official technical specs page, including products from SanDisk, Lexar, Samsung, and Kingston.
The DJI Mavic 3 Cine’s exclusive features will come at a high cost, though. Customers can only get the drone by purchasing the DJI Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo, priced at $4,999. Aside from the drone, the bundle includes an RC-N1 remote controller, RC Pro smart controller, a pair of RC Pro control sticks, three intelligent flight batteries, six low-noise propellers, a 64W portable charger, storage cover, USB-C cable, battery charging hub, carrying bag, two ND filters sets, and a 10GB Lightspeed data cable.
The standard DJI Mavic 3 is available for $2,199 with basic inclusions, such as RC-N1 remote controller, spare control sticks, USB-C and Lightning cables, and portable charger. The Fly More Combo with more accessories is available at $2,999.
