After months of waiting, “Destiny 2” players have finally arrived at the week when “Season of Opulence” begins. As of this writing, the seasonal gameplay update is set to go live within a day. To better prepare for it, players must take note of some important schedules.
First off, the official schedule of system maintenance begins on Tuesday, June 4 at 7 a.m. PDT. “Destiny 2” players are then required to install gameplay update 2.5.0.1 to be able to access “Season of Opulence” and access the game after the scheduled downtime. Per Bungie’s earlier announcement, the said patch will start to roll out at 8 a.m. PDT for players on all platforms and regions. Within the same hour, all gameplay activities will be unavailable.
If everything goes according to Bungie’s plan, all features and gameplay contents of “Destiny 2” should be available again by 10 a.m. PDT for those who have successfully installed update 2.5.0.1. It is also important to note that Bungie will deploy system maintenance on “Destiny 1” for an hour starting at 10 a.m. PDT.
To properly welcome players in the opening of “Season of Opulence,” they must complete a quest that can be initiated in the Tower. Then “Destiny 2” players with the Annual Pass can start joining the new raid called Crown of Sorrow immediately within Tuesday, something that Bungie does not usually do with new seasonal gameplay updates.
“Destiny 2: Forsaken — Season of Opulence” also brings in a new six-player matchmade activity called The Menagerie. It will also become available on day 1 and only accessible to those with the Annual Pass.
While the biggest gameplay updates are restricted for players with Annual Pass, “Season of Opulence” still brings some contents for free. Every “Destiny 2” gamers will acquire new challenges and chance to gather new loot items. Everyone will also have access to the updated Iron Banner where a season quest is available that will reward them with a new armor.
