Penny Arcade Expo West (PAX West) just announced the details of the panel that Capcom will be hosting which will feature the team behind the upcoming action-adventure hack-and-slash game “Devil May Cry 5.”
The panel will be chaired by the top brass of the “Devil May Cry” franchise such as the game's director, Hideaki Itsuno, and the senior producer, Michiteru Okabe. While PAX events are filled with different activities and panels for any kind of gamer, fans hoping to catch just the panel itself can look forward to Aug. 31, a Friday.
The panel description promises to shed more details on main character Nero's “Devil Breaker” arms. It also teases about “secret surprises” from Capcom's panel that are sure to get fans pumped about the game's return to the public.
“Devil May Cry 5” will feature three playable characters, namely, Dante and Nero, with the third playable character yet to be revealed. While Nico is a potential third playable character, her role as a support to Nero by upgrading his arms may be a limitation that opens up the spot for another, yet-to-be-announced character.
“Devil May Cry 5's” return is heavily anticipated because the last installment in the “Devil May Cry” series was exactly 10 years ago, with 2008's “Devil May Cry 4.” The previous installment was well received for its gameplay and visuals, which have always been the strength of the series. While a reboot of the series was released back in 2013, the Ninja Theory-developed “DmC: Devil May Cry” did not resonate with fans compared to the original treatment of the series.
“Devil May Cry 5” has yet to have an exact official release date aside from a Spring 2019 prediction, but fans of the series can look forward to the title's official release announcement to be one of the “secret surprises” that the PAX West Capcom panel will be revealing.
