If you haven’t yet, it’s time to meet the cast of “Doctor Who” Season 11 before it premieres on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 6.45 p.m. GMT on BBC One.
Many are already aware that British actress Jodie Whittaker is playing the 13th Time Lord in the long-running sci-fi series, but who else is going to be in “Doctor Who” Season 11 alongside the first female star to play the iconic role?
Aside from Whittaker, Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, and Tosin Cole were also cast last year to portray the Doctor's companions, Graham O'Brien, Yasmin Khan, and Ryan Sinclair, respectively. Not much is known about the characters, but let’s take a look at what has been revealed so far.
In a recent interview with Metro, Walsh teased that his character, Graham, is keeping a secret that may prove to be integral to the plot of “Doctor Who” Season 11.
“When you find out during the show, when it comes out what he did and what he does for a living, then you’ll get it. Under no circumstances in a normal job would you understand it, it would be mind-blowing,” Walsh said.
Gill also shared some details about her character, Yasmin, a girl from Sheffield who’s bored with the job she has.
“'I want more of a challenge' she says to her boss. Then she gets a phone call through, which is more of a challenge when she meets the Doctor,” Gill said in an interview with Critical Hit, via the Daily Express.
Meanwhile, Cole’s character, Ryan, actually suffers from dyspraxia, a neurological disorder that makes it difficult to coordinate physical movement.
“It's a relatively common thing among kids, so I think it's important to see that heroes come in all shapes and sizes,” Cole said.
Whittaker, Walsh, Gill, and Cole will make up the main cast of “Doctor Who” Season 11, but fans should also see several famous guest star in the upcoming season.
