President Donald Trump is known to have quite the dating history, from his three marriages to his alleged affairs. A theory has been going around that Trump was so infatuated with one particular woman that netizens point out Melania looks similar to, and possibly a reason why he liked her.
Politicalflare reports that there is one woman that Trump seemed to have gotten enamored with; Italian supermodel Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. People on social media who have learned about this were quick to share photos of Bruni-Sarkozy side-to-side with First Lady Melania Trump, pointing out their resemblance. One user, John McKee, theorized that when Melania and Donald started dating, he had her appearance altered to make her resemble Bruni.
Bruni-Sarkozy was known for being a regular on European fashion shows and was once known for her relationships with many celebrities like Mick Jagger, eventually marrying Nicolas Sarkozy, who would become the President of France. Trump and Bruni reportedly had some history dating all the way back in the 1990s when the future US President was married to his second wife Marla Maples. Stories were published that Trump had an affair with Bruni, and he later claimed that she broke up with the Rolling Stones frontman for him. Bruni denied these claims, but several authors writing Trump biographies had different stories regarding their supposed relationship.
One biography stated that Trump may have said that story as a publicity stunt. Trump eventually came clean but said that those stories were nonsense. On the other end, Harry Hurt III, the author of a Trump biography titled Lost Tycoon, stated that Bruni did not return his affections. According to Hurt, Bruni did not consider Trump to be “one of the world’s greatest men” and that when Trump found out that she was single, he started a rumor that they were dating to which she angrily confronted him about it.
Trump is believed to be seeking revenge on officials who got involved during his impeachment trial in Congress, having dismissed EU ambassador Gordon Sondland and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his twin brother from their positions, having served as witnesses that testified during the trial. Politico reports Trump said that the military may be considering taking disciplinary action against Vindman, days following his dismissal from the National Security Council.
“That’s going to be up to the military, we’ll have to see, but if you look at what happened, they’re going to certainly, I would imagine, take a look at that,” said Trump.
