Donald Trump tapped his wife, Melania Trump to appear in a public service announcement about the deadly coronavirus.
In the one-minute clip, the FLOTUS told her millions of followers that the changes that they need to do now to prevent the spread of coronavirus are not how they will all live forever.
“Our children will return to school, people will return to work, we will gather at the places of worship, concerts and sporting events again. I urge you to stay connected to family and loved ones through the video chats, phone calls, and social media and other safety technologies,” she said.
The FLOTUS also encouraged everyone to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines. Towards the end of her PSA, the first lady encouraged Americans and everyone to stay safe.
“And remember, while many of us apart, we are always together,” the FLOTUS concluded.
However, the FLOTUS received a slew of different reactions after appearing in the PSA. Some of her supporters praised her efforts to comfort Americans during this difficult time. But the first lady’s critics urged her and the POTUS to immediately leave the White House.
“We love our first lady! Our first lady has fled a communist country, came to the US as an immigrant, became an American citizen, and now is our first lady – she speaks five languages and exhibits grace on the world stage! She is the epitome of the American dream,” Twitter user @Lrihendry said.
“Thank you, first lady! Thank you for being intelligent, thank you for having class,” Twitter user @Pompano_Ann said.
“Who is this? She looks familiar. If I recall, up until now she’s been pretty much invisible,” Twitter user @rennerdavis said.
“It would #BeBest if y’all packed your [expletive] up and moved out to make room for a real president who wouldn’t have ignored warnings and called the global pandemic a Democrat hoax and flu. #TrumpVirus2020,” Twitter user @lesleybravanel said.
“Can’t wait until Dr. Jill Biden is in the White House. I think it’s time for a real first lady and not a hooker masquerading as a first lady,” Twitter user @58bugeye said.
