When it comes to the prospect of the “Dragon Ball Super” 2019 anime movie that is coming out at some point this year, there are actually quite a few concerns that come with the idea. To start with, the previous film featured a “Broly” that basically made Goku and the rest look like rank amateurs. This could be why the anime film is being delayed, with the animators experiencing a burnout.
The DVD release for the previous “Dragon Ball Super” film featuring “Broly” had just come out in Japan, Comic Book reports, and it came with some interesting extra contents. Among them was a tidbit featuring Akio Iyoku who is basically the head of the Shueisha Dragon Ball Unit. In the content, he provided some details as to where the franchise was going and what “Dragon Ball Super” 2019 could be.
“Now for our next steps, we are steadily preparing for the next movie,” he said before adding, “Broly was so strong that I think the next one will probably be totally different. I’ve overcome various hurdles with parts of Broly, so I won’t get burned out. I think that Dragon Ball will continue on, so I want fans to look forward to it.”
This fact has been reported by several outlets already, with insiders dropping some hints as to when “Dragon Ball Super” 2019 would be coming out. There were actually reports that it would premiere in July, but that has become less likely now. If these reports had any truth to them, the change in the release period could only hint at production issues.
Coming up with a story for “Dragon Ball Super” 2019 that would surpass or at least match the previous one is going to be difficult, after all. It would appear that despite his comments, Iyoku and his team might be burning out.
