Ellen DeGeneres is one of the most trending celebrities in the past weeks, however, it was not good reasons. She has been accused of being mean to her staff and more stories are coming out even from people she worked with decades ago.
The popular “The Ellen Show” host is really facing a challenging time due to these allegations and many are wondering if she will still be back to the daytime television variety comedy talk show that bears her name. There are rumors that she quit or will be leaving soon but these are just unconfirmed reports.
Ellen’s scandals and allegations against her
Ellen DeGeneres has been accused of inciting a toxic work culture in the set of “The Ellen Show.” This started when alleged former staff members have spoken up about their bad experiences while working with the host.
They said that the 62-year-old has been acting like a diva and she scolds people if her irrational requests or rules are not followed. Because of the rising number of people who are stating their negative experiences, “The Ellen Show” is currently facing an internal investigation for bullying, racism, sexual harassment and fostering a toxic workplace environment behind the camera.
The host’s apology
Ellen DeGeneres has since released a video where she apologized to all her staff. She said that she is working on improving the situation. The host also addressed the other claims and assured the staff it will not happen again while she is on the show.
"As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done,” The Washington Post quoted Ellen as saying in her apology statement. “Clearly some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again."
Portia answers questions about Ellen
Now, since there are reports that Ellen DeGeneres is considering leaving her show because even after her apology, people insist that she was part of the problem, Portia De Rossi recently clarified these rumors once and for all. The former model addressed them through a photographer who bumped into her this week.
Page Six reported that Portia De Rossi was asked by a photographer about her wife and she directly answers them. The question was about whether Ellen is returning to her show and the model said “Yes, she is.”
When prodded to talk more, Portia De Rossi also revealed that Ellen DeGeneres is doing great despite what she is going through right now. Previously, Portia also expressed her strong support to her wife by writing on Instagram “I Stand By Ellen.”
