You just got off from work/school, you lay back on your chair, turn on your PC/console, crack your fingers, and now you’re ready to get this bread… or are you? What if we told you that you can improve your overall gaming experience?
In this article, we’ll be talking about simple yet effective tips to improve your time spent gaming. This includes important accessories, essential hardware, and utilities for your gaming setup.
1. Want to play on PC but have no idea how to build one? Just buy a premade desktop.
Sure, it’s always cool to build your own computer, but sometimes it’s much better if you just buy a high-quality ready-to-use gaming PC with everything that you need.
So why buy a pre-built one instead of customizing your own? Because every spec inside the case is perfectly balanced as all things should be. Every component inside the PC will work harmoniously without any risks (a lot of companies do have a bad habit of including lackluster PSUs, but it’s still a lot easier to replace a PSU than build an entire PC).
This is highly recommended if you are looking to invest in PC gaming without wanting to waste too much time researching each individual part; time is money after all. Don’t like to look up and analyze various GPUs and CPUs? Just get a premade gaming PC.
It can even be cheaper than building from individual pieces if you find a good deal.
2. Stable Internet Means Stable Gaming
Well duh, right? But the thing is, not every gamer knows the importance of really good internet beyond online games. Yes, this is an essential key for multiplayer and achieving the ever coveted Victory Royale, but even if you prefer playing single-player games, a good internet connection is becoming a must-have.
A decently fast internet connection, like Comcast Xfinity, is what you need when you want high-quality net without spending too much (although high-powered fiber optic internet like Verizon Fios comes with its own perks).
While we’re sure some would debate us, 25 Mbps should be adequate for downloading digital games, uploading your own gaming highlights on the web, as well as playing online without heavy lag within your server region. This also represents a sweet spot between budget and speed.
3. Out with the TV, In with the Monitor
As gaming has become more mainstream, manufacturers have begun making displays specifically for gaming. This means monitors will provide you the best visual experience whether you’re on PC or console.
That’s right-- if you are a console player, the time is now to play your games with a good monitor. You can buy a decent-quality gaming monitor for just around $100 these days (although premium monitors cost a lot more, they also come with a lot more features).
Compared to a TV, a gaming monitor is specifically built for optimal hand-and-eye coordination. In other words, you will experience less input lag, a better refresh rate, and better RGB when you play on such display. Just the fact that you have a smaller area to move your eyes around means that your reflexes will be enhanced.
On the other hand, TVs are designed primarily for watching. Yes, the likes of Sony and Samsung may display features to entice the gaming crowd (especially console players) into buying their TVs, but they cannot provide essentials such as fast response times and high refresh rates (which is admittedly less important with consoles since they never push past 60 FPS), things that are very important for competitive players.
Miscellaneous Tips
Have Some Food and Drink with You
It goes without saying, food is life. Food and refreshments naturally make us relaxed and relieve some of that tension while playing. Just don’t have too much of it or be the generic dude-bro gamer with a two-liter of Mountain Dew and a huge bag of Doritos.
It’s Always Better with Friends
While you may like that lone wolf feeling, there are lots of days when gaming just feels a whole lot better with peers. Whether you’re up for a bloody 1v1 in Mortal Kombat or co-op looting in Borderlands 2, these experiences flourish with a mixture of laughter and friendly competition.
Those should suffice to improve your gaming experience. If you have any other tips that you personally use to make gaming better for you, let us know in the comments!
