'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 4 Spoilers, News & Update: Alicia Leads as Last Surviving Clark

Death and loss are two themes that are intimately intertwined with a franchise like “The Walking Dead,” and this is quite palpable in “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 4. All members of the series' starting group, the Clark family, have been wiped out save for one: Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). For the upcoming second half of the season, she will either rise up and lead or risk oblivion.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Andrew Chambliss noted how the second half of “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 4 is going to be challenging for Alicia. She may still have allies right now, but losing her mother and brother is expected to hit her hard.

“Alicia is in a very interesting place,” Chambliss told the publication. “She lost both her mother and her brother, so for the first time she’s really finding herself in the apocalypse without any of her biological family. Yes, she has friends, yes she has Luciana, but there’s a big difference between having your friends around and not having your mother and your brother.”

This is why the second half of “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 4 is going to be a “sink or swim” window for Alice. Either she rises up to lead the remaining survivors under her care or she fails to live up to expectations. A particularly huge question that would likely be in Alice’s mind is whether or not she could fill her mother’s shoes.

Aside from Alice, the other characters in the show will also be facing their own challenges of moving on, Bleeding Cool News notes. “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 4 part 2 will put a lot of emphasis on how these people can move past their thirst for revenge and truly live for tomorrow. Well, for whatever tomorrow awaits them in the zombie-infested world that they will be living in, at least.
