“Final Fantasy VII Remake” is generating a lot of noise on the web even though the game wouldn’t hit shelves anytime soon. While some fans are thrilled about the upcoming game, others aren’t too keen that Square Enix did some serious overhaul to its original source.
By now, it’s common knowledge in the gaming community that “Final Fantasy VII Remake” will not be truly faithful to its source material. One of the biggest complaints being made is the studio’s decision to integrate a real-time battle system rather than sticking to the beloved Action Time Battle that hardcore fans have come to love.
Still, the company is convinced that they can deliver a riveting reimagining of “Final Fantasy VII Remake” and is currently working on the game even though they got their hands full with “Kingdom Hearts 3.” It’s been speculated that the studio is heavily focusing their efforts in polishing “Kingdom Hearts 3” since the game is scheduled for release on Feb. 29, 2019.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura revealed that although they are prioritizing “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the moment, their team is actually split between the upcoming title and “Final Fantasy VII Remake.” However, Nomura admitted that their PR team is focusing on the former mentioned title for obvious reasons.
The director added that the development of “Final Fantasy VII Remake” is going smoothly at the moment even though the previous progress made on the title has been mostly scrapped. It’s expected that when “Kingdom Hearts 3” is finally pushed out the door, development of “Final Fantasy VII Remake” will accelerate further as the studio will allocate their resources in finishing the game.
As for what exactly is known about “Final Fantasy VII Remake,” the studio is keeping everything under wraps and with good reason. Aside from the new battle system, little is known regarding the plot of the next title and what is going to be included in “Final Fantasy VII Remake.” Hopefully, Tetsuya announces new information regarding the title that would shed light what fans can expect when it’s released in 2020.
