Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 is scheduled for launch on Tuesday and it is meant to be a long game, taking hours upon hours to finish when done the right way. However, impatient people can actually finish the game in just 10 minutes and they can get a secret ending, to boot. Naturally, there are going to be some spoilers, so it might be best to experience this feature after beating the game the normal way.
This news comes courtesy of Eurogamer, which had more time than most with the game to tinker with it and uncover its secrets. The publication notes that just like in Far Cry 4, where players could actually finish the game and achieve the protagonist’s goals if they just wait for several minutes following a certain event early on, Far Cry 5 has a similar feature.
The publication posted a video of what happens in the upcoming game’s optional scene, which anyone who wants to avoid spoiler will really want to avoid. This franchise is known for twist endings and it would ruin the surprise for players if they are too impatient and proceed to watch what happens before experiencing what the game has to offer.
Those at PCGamesN are certainly in no hurry to see how this game about overzealous members of a religious cult rampaging in a small area of Montana will end. For the most part, secret endings like the one being discussed now are historically intended to be seen or experienced once the game has been beaten in the right way.
Secret endings basically function as bonus features to give players extra incentive to keep going back to the game, adding to the replay value. In many examples, gamers would have to follow very specific steps right up to the end to unlock secret scenes. Far Cry 5 simply does this rather early.
