Regardless of its numerous technical and graphical issues, Friday the 13th is shaping up to be one of the hottest multiplayer online games right now. With the upcoming update for the game, players have plenty to look forward to. Not only does it come with some new maps, there’s even a swimsuit pack that costs $4.
For those who have not played or even heard about Friday the 13th, it’s basically an online multiplayer game where up to four players can take on the role of naughty camp counselors while one will become the invincible, hockey mask-sporting Jason Voorhees. The counselors will need to escape the camp by scrounging for supplies and weapons while being stalked by the property’s main antagonist.
The list of changes and new materials that will come with the next update are posted on Steam, with developer studio IllFonic providing some context. As expected, the patch will come with bug fixes as well as performance tweaks, which should go a long way towards addressing some of the game’s biggest issues.
“Overall stability should be drastically improved due to a number of crash fixes and a major memory leak fix,” the post reads.
As great as this news is to gamers, however, it pales in comparison to some of the upcoming contents to the game. There are the smaller maps that players can choose in order to ramp up the thrill, for example, and there are the new maps that will supposedly be ripped from the movies.
Players can also spend $4 for the Spring Break 1984 swimsuit pack, PC Gamer reports, which will likely include some skimpy outfits for the counselors. There is a launch discount of $2, though, so it’s worth keeping that particular detail in mind. There’s no set date as to when the update will come out.
