A fan recently analyzed some “Red Dead Redemption 2” codes leading to speculation that the game may be containing clues about the “GTA 6” weapons. This is an interesting source of new speculations for the elusive game, but people might not want to get their hopes up just yet.
‘GTA 6’ gameplay: Weapons leaked through ‘RDD2’ files?
The supposed clues were recently shared on GTA Forums, where a fan noticed that a “Red Dead Redemption 2” file is making reference to guns that are not present in the game. It became much more interesting when the curious fan realized that these weapons are available in a different Rockstar Games title -- “Grand Theft Auto.”
The codes in the file mentioned weapons such as AK-47, a Browning pistol, a carbine, and other high-powered guns. Considering that “Red Dead Redemption 2” is set in the 1800s, it is not shocking that these weapons are not found in the game.
However, other fans replying to the post were not convinced that these are “GTA 6” clues. One gamer pointed out that this file could just be a “left over” from a “GTA V” asset since most of the weapons mentioned were also found in the currently available game.
While there is not much weight to the supposed clues, this is not the wildest thing that sparked a “GTA 6” speculation this year. Last November, some “GTA Online” players were convinced that a certain location included in the “Cayo Perico Heist” was included in a teaser video as a subtle nod at the development of “GTA 6.”
‘GTA 6’ release date: Is 2021 going to be a good year?
The speculations are unlikely going to stop anytime soon, especially with Rockstar refusing to give fans any ounce of update about the next game. Fans have been waiting for years to see “GTA 6” released since the current campaign is already seven years old. However, 2021 is not looking very promising either.
Rockstar will have several games to launch next year, and “GTA 6” is not one of them. Instead of releasing an all-new “GTA,” the developer decided to work on an expansion of the “GTA V” and “GTA Online” for the new generations of consoles.
