SAN RAMON, Calif., Feb. 13, 2017 -- Galena Biopharma, Inc. (NASDAQ:GALE), a biopharmaceutical company developing hematology and oncology therapeutics that address unmet medical needs, today announced the closing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 17,000,000 shares of common stock and warrants to purchase 17,000,000 shares of common stock priced at $1.00 per share and accompanying warrant. The warrants are immediately exercisable with a strike price of $1.10 and will expire on the fifth anniversary of the date of issuance. The shares of common stock and the warrants will be issued separately and will be separately transferable immediately upon issuance.
The net proceeds to Galena are approximately $15.5 million, assuming no exercise of the warrants and after deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated offering expenses payable by Galena.
Canaccord Genuity acted as sole book-running manager for the offering.
