“Game of Thrones” season 8 is finally here and fans should prepare for the winter! To tease fans a bit, Emilia Clarke recently shared some serious teasers about what we can expect from the final run of the series that was based on George RR Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book novel series.
In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke who plays Daenerys Targaryen in the “Game of Thrones” season 8 said that the story for their drama’s finale is like a “meet the parents” scenario. This is because her character traveled to Winterfell to meet and provide help in defending Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) family.
Likewise, when Daenerys arrived in Winterfell in “Game of Thrones” season 8, Emilia Clarke revealed that she got a frosty treatment from Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), the Lady of Winterfell thus she compared her character’s arrival as like meeting the in-laws in real life.
“I like to think that it’s like Meet the Parents,” the actress told the magazine. “It’s like - I hope they like me. It’s a really good thing we got going on. He’s the final piece.”
She added, “We’re destined for greatness and world domination is a breath away. And so I need to be like, ‘Can I braid your hair, Sansa?’ Little Arya, come over here, let’s play some cricket.’ So there’s that. And then, very, very quickly, it’s like - ‘Wait, is it just me, or do they hate me?'”
Further, Clarke disclosed that “Game of Thrones” season 8 will focus more on Daenerys because her character is now more experienced and can be a good leader now. “The thing I now realize is she’s not a scared little girl anymore,” the actress shared.
Meanwhile, “Game of Thrones” season 8 will premiere on April 14 at 9 p.m. on HBO. For fans who cannot view the drama on television, there are other options to watch it. As mentioned on New York Post, fans can download the HBO app to watch “GoT” or they can stream the show via Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Hulu, and Roku.
