“Gotham” season 5 has been confirmed to happen but it was stated that it will be the show’s final installment. Fox has been canceling a number of its shows but this “Batman” spinoff luckily got another go signal for its finale.
For a bit of a spoiler, lead actor, David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), recently disclosed some details about what will happen in “Gotham” season 5. He sat down with TV Insider and shared that Bruce will finally say the word “Batman” and, of course, this just means that he will finally transform to the caped superhero when the series airs for the last time.
“Throughout the show, we've been having little teases of these iconic things but now, in season five,” he said. “We really get to show them and show their full force and show them in their entirety and not have to tease them anymore but actually say the word 'Batman.'”
Plot
“Gotham” season 5 will be a bit chaotic as many things will happen in the city. It will be unpredictable because most of the DC superheroes are expected to appear in the finale storyline.
"It not only combines so many characters that you don't think will co-operate with each other, but it changes the face of Gotham forever, so that season five, it's almost a reboot and a different show," DC Comics News quoted producer Danny Cannon as saying.
Meanwhile, here are leaked photos of "Gotham" season 5:

Who will be in season 5?
David Mazouz (young Bruce Wayne), Ben McKenzie (young Commissioner James Gordon), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth) and Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock) are surely coming back for “Gotham” season 5. They will be supported by a band of equally fantastic actors that include Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle/Catwoman), Cory Michael Smith (Riddler), Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin) and Morena Baccarin (Leslie Thompkins).
Episodes and air date
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show only needs 13 episodes more to reach the 100-episode mark. However, it was reported that “Gotham” season 5 will be shorter than the previous seasons and it will only have 10 episodes in all.
“Gotham” season 5 is expected to arrive in January 2019. The schedule is different from the normal September release date because this is already the show’s finale.
