PlayStation gamers have found several clues over the last months that suggested “Gran Turismo 7” is slated to launch in the first half of 2021. However, that seemed to have changed recently suggesting that the racing game’s launch is likely delayed.
‘Gran Turismo 7’ release date moved later into 2021?
Sony and Polyphony Digital have yet to announce a specific release date for “Gran Turismo 7” since it was announced last June.
But a trailer for upcoming PlayStation 5 games was released in November listing the car racing game as part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s first-half 2021 lineup, along with “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart” “Returnal.”
However, eagle-eyed fans on ResetEra noticed that Sony changed the said list to remove “Gran Turismo 7” from the anticipated games to be released in the first half of next year. The edited version of the video now only indicates that the game is “in development for PlayStation.” The edit also added “Horizon Forbidden West” as an upcoming game in the second half of 2021.
To those wondering, several Google search results suggest YouTube videos can be edited after it was uploaded without losing views count and changing the URL. This can then be taken as a subtle announcement that “Gran Turismo 7” will be released later than anticipated.
‘Gran Turismo 7’ gameplay: Is it launching on PlayStation 4?
The “Gran Turismo” has been one of the staple titles for PlayStation consoles. Since not every PS4 players are can immediately switch to the newer gaming hardware, some might still be wondering if “Gran Turismo 7” is planned to launch on the 2013-released console. Unfortunately, Sony just released a new trailer on Sunday where the game is specifically billed as a PS5 exclusive.

It might be for the best, though. The expected gameplay features of “Gran Turismo 7” appear to work best with the hardware and specs only found on the PS5. The game’s official website promises the game would play at 4K and has “no load times” when selecting a car as well as support 3D audio and haptic feedback. The same trailer confirms the game is still slated to launch in 2021.
