‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s mid-season premiere is set to feature Arizona as she heads to maximum security prison after being assigned to an unusual case. She will enlist the help of her colleagues Dr. Miranda Bailey and Dr. Jo Wilson.

According to Melty, the mid-season premiere of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13 is set to feature Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) heading to prison. Fortunately, the fan-favorite character will not be serving time but will be tending to an inmate described as too dangerous to visit a regular hospital. The episode airing next year will pick up immediately after the events of season 13’s episode 9, titled "You Haven't Done Nothin'."

During an interview with TV Guide, Capshaw teased that her character will leaving the familiar walls of Grey Sloan Memorial to head to prison after being assigned to an unusual case. She said, "Arizona's been called in on a case at a maximum security prison for an inmate who can't go to a regular hospital because she's that dangerous."

It was revealed that Arizona will seek the assistance of her colleagues Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Jo (Camilla Luddington). "After the longest day of all of their lives, they all go to a maximum security prison, where they are meant to do something that seems like a pretty simple procedure… It's truly kind of creepy at the same time as it's super provocative and exciting."

Although she didn’t state more details on the incoming mid-season premiere, the 40-year old American actress also teased that a table read left all the actresses “terrified.”

It was speculated that Arizona’s “unusual case” is a pregnant female inmate. According to Wet Paint, the patient may need urgent medical attention for her pregnancy considering that Dr. Arizona Robbins is a pediatric surgeon.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s part 2 is scheduled to return on ABC on January 19, 2017.
