Guide to today's important data and events
Not many economic dockets scheduled for today, risk associated is high. Focus is on US NFP report and Euro zone GDP.
Data released so far -
- Japan - Coincident index and leading economic index improved to 111.1 and 107.2 in April, according to preliminary reading.
- German - German factory orders rose sharply in April by 1.4% m/m compared to 0.5% expected and 1.1% prior.
- France - French trade balance came at -€3 billion, compared to -€4.6 billion in May.
- Spain - Industrial output grew by 1.8% in April from a year ago.
Upcoming -
- UK - Today is tentative release dates of Halifax house prices. Consumer inflation expectation to be released at 8:30 GMT. Inflation expectations will heavily influence pound.
- Eurozone - GDP for 1st quarter will be released at 9:00 GMT. Prior growth was 1%, same is expected.
- US - Data of the month is scheduled today. NFP employment report is scheduled for release at 12:30 GMT. In April payroll added 223,000, today expected 225,000. Unemployment rate is expected to remain same at 5.4%. Consumer credit change is scheduled at 19:00 GMT. FED's Willian Dudley is expected to speak at 16:30 GMT.
- Canada - Unemployment stat is scheduled at 12:30 GMT. Payroll is expected to add 10,000 while unemployment rate remains stable at 6.8%.
