“Halo Infinite” will be making an appearance in the upcoming E3 2019. As such, fans and critics alike are at the edge of their seat what’s in store for this massively popular franchise.
Part of the reason why “Halo Infinite” is drawing a lot of attention is due to the fact that “Halo 5: Guardians” came out four years ago. So it wasn’t surprising that when the next entry for the series was revealed in last year’s E3, the gaming community was abuzz with excitement.
There’s also the fact that “Halo Infinite” is being billed as a “spiritual reboot” for the franchise, which means the developers are planning something big for the title. But what sort of form that plan will take remains to be seen.
However, we did glimpse some of the changes that “Halo Infinite” will bring, particularly on the graphics side of things. The new Slipspace engine is responsible for this improvement, which is also the reason why the game took so long to make. This fact has been confirmed by 343 Industries’ Kiki Wolfkill after she spoke with GI.biz.
“Part of why there's been that span of time between Halo 5 and ‘[Halo] Infinite’ is the retooling of the infrastructure to give us the flexibility to do whatever we wanted with that game. But it's also about setting off the next generation of Halo. We want people to be able to come into Halo Infinite who may not have played any other Halo game before,” Wolfkill revealed.
The excitement surrounding “Halo Infinite” is also rooted in the fact that Marty O’Donnell, Jen Taylor, and Joseph Staten are all involved in the creation of the next entry. All three individuals have worked extensively with the franchise for years. O'Donnell being the composer, Staten handling the writing, and, of course, Taylor the voice of the programmer Cortana who has been a constant presence in the adventures of Master Chief.
As for the release date of “Halo Infinite,” nothing has been confirmed just yet, but it’s expected that E3 2019 will be revealing some hint on this regard. GamesRadar predicts that the game could be two or three years away from being completed, a safe assumption judging by the reveal back in E3 last year.
