People often say that the soft sands on Hawaii’s beaches are to die for, but apparently, someone is about to take that saying to a whole new different in “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 4. According to the official synopsis, McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Danny (Scott Caan) are going to work on a case involving the illegal trading of sand in the black market, but they will discover a dead body while investigating.
Titled “A'ohe Kio Pohaku Nalo i Ke Alo Pali (On the Slope of the Cliff, Not One Jutting Rock Is Hidden from Sight,” “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 4 will also feature Jerry (Jorge Garcia) and Junior (Beulah Koale) escorting a fallen soldier home to Oahu. Jennifer Marshall will be portraying Colonel Bailey in this episode, while Rey Valentin plays Noa Alana.
The synopsis did not really give away much in terms of plot details, but CarterMatt has speculated that “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 4 may deal with Duke’s (Dennis Chun) situation as well. Duke is still dealing with the consequences of his actions last season as he stole crucial evidence to save his kidnapped granddaughter, and CarterMatt said Honolulu Police Department sergeant may decide to retire instead while waiting for his reinstatement.
Of course, the show can always go in that direction. But as noted by CarterMatt, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Duke is going to be written out since there are ways to keep the character on the show.
“Duke’s the sort of experienced guy who could always be called in as a consultant of sorts for Five-0, and they’ve certainly done their fair share of getting outside help before,” the team at CarterMatt pointed out. “With his level of experience, he’ll always be in demand depending on what he wants to do.”
Duke retiring would be an interesting development for his character and the series as a whole. In any case, don’t forget to check out “Hawaii Five-0” Season 9 Episode 4 when it airs on Friday, Oct. 19, at 9 p.m. ET on the CBS Television Network.
