Former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton took a swipe at the recent reports regarding former President Donald Trump and the White House documents. Clinton touted her new merchandise referencing the infamous “but her emails” comment towards her.
The former Secretary of State took to social media to take a swipe at the former president following the reports of White House records that were found in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Clinton shared a photo of a mug that had the tagline “But her emails” next to the headline of the Washington Post report of the former president’s penchant for shredding White House documents.
“Take a sip from your new mug as you read the news,” tweeted Clinton.
The mug is sold by the former secretary of state’s PAC, Onward Together, along with other merchandise such as shirts, tote bags, and stickers. The former first lady was subject to scrutiny by Trump back in 2016 with her use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state under Barack Obama. During the campaign trail, the now-former president constantly sowed suspicion and led chants of “Lock her up!” by his supporters.
The FBI later concluded that Clinton should not face criminal charges from its investigation that took years.
This comes as reports emerged that several boxes of White House records were improperly taken to Mar-a-Lago rather than be turned over to the National Archives at the end of Trump’s term. The congressional committee investigating the Capitol riots reportedly received White House documents that had to be taped together due to the former president’s penchant for destroying documents and records during his term.
In other related news, Clinton is set to visit Abu Dhabi, next month for an event celebrating International Women’s Day. Clinton will attend the Forbes 30/50 Summit, an event bringing together women from the “30 Under 30” and the “50 under 50” list. Clinton will also be a recipient of the Forbes International Women’s Day Lifetime Achievement Award for her fight for gender equity.
“Morning Joe” host, Forbes 30/50 Chairwoman, and founder of Know Your Value Mika Brzezinski will be interviewing Clinton as part of receiving the award.
