Chinese firms including network equipment vendor Huawei Technologies Co. and drone maker SZ DJI Technology Co. topped 381 that were found falsifying records to receive South Korea's country's communications equipment certification.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, the falsified test records pertain to 1,700 communications equipment.
Closed-circuit TV camera manufacturer Hangzhou HIKVISION Digital Tech Co. had the most falsified records with 224 pieces of equipment, followed by DJI at 145, and Huawei at 136.
South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. was 10th with 23 false records on equipment, including wireless speakers.
The ICT ministry, which investigated equipment that gained certification beginning in 2006, announced that the National Radio Research Agency will begin a hearing on the 381 falsifying companies next month.
Under South Korea's local radio wave law, falsifying records on equipment certification could result in cancellation and withdrawal of the equipment involved.
