Hyundai Motor Group had begun the construction of its open mobility innovation center in Singapore, where the group will research the entire value chain of a customer's automobile life cycle.
The research would start from ordering of cars to production, test driving, delivery, and service.
Planned for completion by the end of 2022, the new global lab dubbed Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore, or HMGICS will be built in Jurong Innovation Complex on a site of 44,000 square meters, with a total floor area of 90,000 square meters.
The HMGICS will feature a 620 meter-long “sky track” for customer test-drives, an air mobility take-off and landing site, and solar panels.
Hyundai intends to further expand the use of clean energy through hydrogen fuel cells to eliminate carbon dioxide emissions.
According to Hyundai Motor Group Executive Vice Chairman Chung Euisun, HMGICS’ vision of human-centered value chain innovation will help improve the quality of customer life.
