India said Nov. 8 that 19 seafarers stranded in Yemen for two weeks are returning home, while the embassy did not clarify whether they include 14 nationals from an earlier yacht incident.
The Embassy of India to Yemen said it evacuated the group from Hodeidah and Sana’a. It reported that all 19 were safe and in good health, but provided no expected arrival date or account of the transport used. The statement did not name the seafarers or a vessel, or explain why they had been stranded.
On Oct. 23, the embassy reported that 14 Indian nationals involved in a yacht incident off Yemen’s coast were safe near Hodeidah. Its Nov. 8 update did not say whether any of the 14 were among those evacuated, so the figures should not be added together. EconoTimes previously covered the embassy’s update on the 14 Indians involved in the Yemen yacht incident.
