It has been more than a year since Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced that they are getting a divorce. Though both parties never went to detail what caused it, several sources previously claimed that tend to spend a great deal of time apart during the marriage.
Both Aniston and Theroux are equally busy Hollywood stars, so it was not surprising if they did need to spend time apart for work. However, an earlier report by PEOPLE said they were still usually apart when they were not filming.
On their free time, Aniston reportedly preferred to stay in their Los Angeles, California residence while Theroux loved to be in New York City. At the time, the report noted it was deemed a manifestation of how mature and strong their relationship is.
“Justin often spends a few days in NYC by himself. When he is in NYC, Jen will catch up with friends and enjoys her own life,” an insider of the publication said. Another source hinted that such an arrangement allowed them to appreciate their moments together even more. “They love and respect each other and do spend a lot of time apart. For them, it is a healthy part of their romance. By not spending every minute together, it’s like their honeymoon is lasting longer,” the second source said.
However, fans were shocked when they suddenly announced they were separating in February 2018. In a joint statement, Aniston and Theroux assured fans that it was an amicable decision and said, “We are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
With both actors claiming they remain friends, post-divorce, there are some questions on whether they could be seen together again, especially since Aniston was filming in New York City earlier in May. However, a recent rumor insists the “Murder Mystery” actress is deliberately avoiding Theroux. But an official rep of Aniston dismissed the report, per Gossip Cop.
