Jim Hoft was reported to have been permanently banned by Twitter from its platform. The founder of Getaway Pundit, an American far-right fake news website, was ejected just the past weekend.
Why Jim Hoft was removed from the Twitter platform
Jim Hoft who is also serving as his news site’s editor-in-chief, has been suspended from using Twitter, and it was decided that this will be for good. The social media platform explained that they deleted the entrepreneur’s account because he went against Twitter’s civic integrity policy.
The company’s spokesperson confirmed that the Gateway Pundit founder would no longer be able to access his account or use the platform in the future. He also cited repeated violations as the reason why Hoft was permanently banned, like Donald Trump.
"You may not use Twitter's services for the purpose of manipulating or interfering in elections or other civic processes,” part of the Twitter policy reads. “This includes posting or sharing content that may suppress participation or mislead people about when, where, or how to participate in a civic process.”
Hoft’s questionable activities
In any case, Gateway Pundit has been labeled as a fake news site since it is posting articles full of falsehoods, especially about the November 2020 presidential election that put Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States.
Jim Hoft has been using Twitter to bring his articles to a wide audience. Aside from posting his articles on the platform, he also tweets messages and statements mostly about the alleged voter fraud. He is also suggesting that there were voting irregularities.
In short, he has been spreading that the election has been rigged and Donald Trump should have won. In fact, On Joe Biden's Inauguration Day, the Getaway Pundit’s headline claimed that the new president stole the position from Trump through cheating.
Finally, as per CNN News, Jim Hoft’s response to Twitter’s ban was negative. He said that his account was being monitored for a long time and that he was being targeted, so it is no wonder it was finally removed. Jim Hoft just joined the long list of right-wing personalities that Twitter has officially banned.
