Rumors about Jimmy Butler being fed up with the Minnesota Timberwolves have been so widely reported that it seems the speculations have turned into facts. However, there are indeed hints that this is the case.
For instance, Jimmy Butler has refused to sign a hefty $110 million four-year extension with the team, Inquisitr reported. But Butler’s dissatisfaction doesn’t stem from the Timberwolves organization but his younger teammates.
Allegedly, the rest of the roster isn’t giving their 100 percent that would make them one of the teams that could snatch an NBA title. Karl-Anthony Towns has reportedly been one of the major reasons that Jimmy Butler doesn’t want to play with the Wolves anymore.
The shooting guard’s refusal to sign the enticing contract puts tremendous pressure on the Timberwolves organization to trade him as he’s going to be a free agent this summer. This means that they could potentially lose Butler over nothing if they don’t trade him before the upcoming NBA deadline.
So where does Jimmy Butler want to go? According to rumors, the accomplished guard is eyeing teams in the East, particularly the Nets and Knicks.
"The top guys have already been talking with their friends around the league,” said Vincent Goodwill, a Bulls reporter. “I'm sure Kawhi (Leonard) has already talked to LeBron (James) – their plan to reunite or get together in Los Angeles in 2019. Klay Thompson will be a free agent in 2019. Most likely he's gonna stay right where he is with that dynasty out with the Warriors. And then you look at Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler talking about getting together somewhere. That could be with the Knicks or Nets."
Goodwill added that Jimmy Butler and Kyrie Irving will also be joined by another unnamed but very established player. The reporter didn’t disclose the identity of the third player but stressed that he is highly skilled.
