In this era of pop culture, fame means a hefty bank account most of the time. And based on a recent report, that applies to Jungkook as well.
Jungkook, whose real name is Jeon Jung-kook, is just 21 years old making him the youngest member of BTS. But age is just a number for this very popular K-Pop idol. Aside from being part of the biggest boy band in the world right now, Jungkook has also garnered a handful of brand deals and solo records that would explain how he could earn millions at such a young age.
As of 2018, the website Celebrity Net Worth reported that Jungkook has an $8 million-worth of fortune. The outlet does not cite other specific sources for this information but explained they have a method of coming up with the number. “All net worths are calculated through the combination of a robust methodology and a proprietary algorithm,” the news source explained. “The results are fact-checked and confirmed by a team of editors and industry insiders.”
It is also not surprising that Jungkook has millions of dollars in his account considering that the BTS, collectively, earned over $3 billion in 2018 that ultimately helped boost the South Korean economy. It even started a nationwide debate on whether the South Korean government and defense department should start allowing conditional military service exemptions for K-Pop stars such as BTS.
Aside from BTS chart-topping songs, Jungkook also earns from a number of promotion deals with international brands. It would not be shocking if companies are willing to pay a large amount of money to have Jungkook promote them as his worldwide influence has been proven several times. For one, his Funko Pop figurine immediately became one of the all-time best-sellers immediately after its release.
In April, it was reported that a local clothing brand situated in Ulsan, South Korea saw a tremendous increase in sales after Jungkook wore one of their turtleneck shirts. He did not even have to verbally promote their brand. The company reported a large number of bulk orders from across Korea, China, and Vietnam.
