Jungkook is popular not just in South Korea but worldwide. In his band BTS, he is one of the most well-known, but a recent ranking made by the Japanese media revealed that he is the most popular even in his own group.
Jungkook’s popularity
It was said that Jungkook is the no. 1 idol today, and several Japanese media outlets created a poll and ranked the idols and the BTS members. Outlets that include Haryu Korea and Rank1 released the results last week, and Jungkook topped all the lists. The former is said to be Japan's largest Korean/Asian information site, so fans could trust the results.
This info was first shared by Jungkook’s fan base after they posted screenshots of the Japanese ranking report. As can be seen in the images, Jungkook is the most popular member in BTS and in response to this good report, another one the singer’s fan accounts tweeted a message of agreement by stating, "Looks, singing, dancing, personality, and everything are perfect, and it's all about grabbing the hearts of the fans."
The singer’s special day
In any case, there is no question that Jungkook is popular, and in fact, just recently, the hashtag #JungkookDay trended on Twitter around the world. The ARMYs posted messages and sweet captions for the 22-year-old’s self-proclaimed special day, which is on Jan. 9. This should not be confused for his birthday because it is not.
The trending of #JungkookDay started in 2018 when in the BTS season greetings calendar of that year, Jungkook marked Jan. 9 as his day. He wrote on the calendar: "Even if you don't know what it is, trend JK Day." Since then, fans have been celebrating and greeting him on this date.
Meanwhile, BTS has been confirmed to release a new album next month. Big Hit Entertainment revealed that RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, V, and Suga are currently preparing for their new songs for the album.
BTS’ next album has been titled "Map of the Soul: 7," and it will be released on Feb. 21, USA Today reported. Pre-orders already started on Jan. 9, so there is a possibility that it will be sold out long before the actual album launch.
