Fans who have been patiently waiting for the release of “Kingdom Hearts 3” received great news recently. Square Enix finally revealed how the “Big Hero 6” world will look in the upcoming game. The developer also partnered with Sony to launch the “Kingdom Hearts: VR Experience” for free.
Disney Pixar’s “Big Hero 6” saw a massive success after it premiered in 2014. The following year, Square Enix confirmed that the titular superhero group — led by Hiro and the super adorable healthcare companion named Baymax — will be included in “Kingdom Hearts 3.” But the trailer released on Monday marks the first time fans are seeing San Fransokyo in the “Kingdom Hearts 3” universe.
A message from #KingdomHearts III director, Tetsuya Nomura:
— Kingdom Hearts (@KINGDOMHEARTS) September 10, 2018
"The latest trailer from #KH3 was just revealed. While this trailer is a short version, a longer version with new and additional content will be released ahead of #TGS2018 on the 18th (Japan time)"
The latest “Kingdom Hearts 3” teaser opens with chaos erupting in the hybrid city of San Francisco and Tokyo. The trailer's audio, which runs for less than two minutes, is in Japanese since it is a shorter version of what will be fully revealed at the Tokyo Game Show later this month.
However, the scenes obviously show Sora, Donald, and Goofy meeting Baymax and Hiro for the first time in “Kingdom Hearts 3.” Go Go is also seen taking a bad hit from the enemies disturbing the peace in San Fransokyo.
Later, the trailer reveals that Hiro will use his brilliant mind to program some high-tech weapons and armor for his new friends in “Kingdom Hearts 3.” For example, Goofy wields a sparkling shield marked with the classic Mickey Mouse icon. And, of course, “Big Hero 6” will not be complete without some equipment that looks very similar to the microbots.
Meanwhile, there are still a few months left before “Kingdom Hearts 3” is officially out. Luckily for fans with the PSVR, they can enjoy a “free 10-minute interactive video” called the “Kingdom Hearts: VR Experience” later this year.
According to the Sony PlayStation blog, “Kingdom Hearts: VR Experience” will include some of the fans’ “favorite memories” as well as new content from the popular Square Enix story-driven video game franchise. That makes it a good bonus item to have while waiting for “Kingdom Hearts 3” to be released on Jan. 29, 2019.
