Adidas has released a cycling shoe designed specifically for indoor cycling, dubbed The Indoor Shoe.
The shoe’s lightweight and breathable design makes it ideal for high-intensity indoor training, whether spin classes or home workouts on a smart trainer.
It retails for €130 and is currently available exclusively via the Adidas website.
The shoe is the third for cycling for Adidas after a 15-year break from the sport.
Adidas returned to the cycling market with The Road Shoe in 2020 and The Gravel Shoe in August this year.
Unlike its previous cycling shoes, which use a lace closure system, the Indoor Shoe is equipped with a Velcro strap, which cross-crosses over the top of the foot to “enable easy entry and quick adjustments”.
The Indoor Shoe is compatible with three-bolt cleats and has a fiberglass-nylon sole, which appears to be the same sole as those from The Road Shoe. It has heel and toe pads and a loop on the heel.
The shoe’s upper part is made of lightweight recycled material and has two mesh sections for ventilation and aid cooling. It is available in white, black, or ‘Acid Red’.
According to Celine Del Genes, Adidas’s specialist sports department general manager, the brand desire to cater to the needs of a rapidly developing cycling culture.
