CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (6th April) and cover positions up to Tuesday (3rd April). COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and decreasing
Long positions declined last week. The net long positions got decreased by 36,765 contracts to +166.6K contracts.
- Copper – Net position long and increasing
Long positions rose last week. The net longs increased by 1,723 contracts to +20.9K contracts.
- Silver – Net position short and increasing
The short positions rose for a second consecutive week and by 3,308 contracts to -17K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators reduced long positions last week and by 16,225 contracts, which brought the net positions to +699.5K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and increasing
Short positions rose last week and by 3,344 contracts that pushed the net position to -97.5K contracts.
